Why Giving Is Better Than Getting (includes planner)

Giving is better than receiving for you

Happiness

  • releases a hormone in your body that is good for you
  • Kindness is contagious
  • Helped you focus on other people besides yourself

It could potentially bring people including yourself, closer to GOD

  • when people see you being kind they might ask you why. That gives you an opportunity to tell them about GOD.
  • GOD calls up to help and serve others as he serves us
  • It could remind you of all of your studies and help you start reading your bible

Love

  • the person that you are giving to will feel loved
  • It could make people feel included
  • Your present could help them realize that it is better to give than get

Have you ever given anyone a gift? If so, you know that it does something to you and the person that you gave the present to. The present doesn’t have to be super crazy or expensive, it can even be homemade, but when you give that present to a friend or family it makes you feel happy and it makes you kinder. Kindness spreads to the other people you interact with too. And when people are happy they can open up potentially growing closer to GOD. It also exhibits love towards others. This is why I believe that giving is better than receiving.

The happiness that comes with giving a present is important. It is actually good for your body. The hormone that your brain gives off is called serotonin. It makes you feel good and it can actually help you heal if you are hurt. Not only that, the kindness that comes with giving is contagious. When you are kind to someone it encourages them to be kind to others. The cycle goes on and on. Giving also helped you become more selfless. Watching the look on someone’s face when they open your present could encourage you to focus on people besides yourself.

I think that giving presents could potentially bring people, including yourself, closer to GOD. When someone sees you being kind and they ask you why, that could be an opportunity to tell them about GOD. I know that if i saw someone being really selfless all the time, i would be curious about their reason. It is also what GOD calls us to do. He wants us to help and serve others as he does himself. Giving to people fits the job perfectly. Gifting presents to people could also remind you about GOD and reading the bible. It could help you remember why you are giving and being so kind in the first place.

I believe that this last reason may be the most important reason why I believe that giving is better than receiving. This reason is called love and compassion. If you give a present to someone who may be sad or lonely it might make them feel loved. This is important. If something bad is going on at home, school or church or any other activity may be one of their only safe or happy places. So if you make them feel loved it could turn their bad day into a happy day. A gift could also make someone feel included. If they are often left out on games or groups, giving them a present could make them feel like a part of something. Most importantly, your present could help them believe that giving is better than getting too. If they had never given or got many presents, this could make them see the joy of gift giving.

For all these reasons, i think that giving is better than receiving. It can create happiness. It can influence someone to turn to GOD. And lastly, it can make someone feel loved and included. So, go get some materials and make a present for your friendly neighbor or maybe you mom or dad. Just get out there and start giving!
